eyes on the prize

striving for excellence

The great Katherine Hepburn once said: “Prizes are nothing. My prize is my work.” When it comes to receiving recognition, we at 7Pines Kempinski Ibiza tend to channel Ms Hepburn (who, by the way, won four Oscars, two BAFTAs, one Emmy and had almost 30 nominations over her lifetime, but who’s counting?) The best prize and the one thing that motivates us to continue to improve is the smile we see on our guests’ faces. Perhaps it sounds trite but it’s the truth – there really is nothing more rewarding than being the reason for the satisfaction of others.

A STROLL THROUGH OUR AWARD LIST

Having said that, we must also admit it’s very nice to receive recognition from the public and the travel industry. We’ve been honoured since our opening season and all it does is spur us on to achieve ever greater heights of service and quality. It started in in 2018 with the 12th Annual World Luxury Hotel Awards, one of the most esteemed global award organisations which receives over 300,000 votes from guests, travellers and industry insiders. 7Pines Kempinski Ibiza was the winner of the Luxury All Suite Hotel award, a tough category with some of the world’s grandest hotels as competition. To be honoured in such a way in our first season was very humbling. Our good fortune continued that year as Best Newcomer in the White Ibiza Best Of Ibiza Readers’ Choice Awards. As the preeminent award on the island, it was a great privilege to be recognised by our peers and fellow islanders.

This past season, 2019, has been even more rewarding – not just for the prizes but for the many wonderful guests who have crossed our threshold to spend their vacation with us. We’ve met people from all over the world and shared many amazing experiences with them which is why it was especially exciting to receive the Global Luxury Hotel & Spa Award for Best Resort for Guest Comfort and Relaxation. After all, our sole purpose is to provide exactly that to every guest that walks through our doors. 2019 continued to be a great season with two more White Ibiza Readers’ Choice Awards wins. The first for Best Luxury Resort and the second for Best Spa. Both these categories are highly contested as Ibiza is home to an increasing number of luxury hotels and well-established spas– the competition is fierce and we are truly humbled.

award worthy pure seven spa

It didn’t stop there. Pure Spa at 7Pines Kempinski Ibiza was shortlisted for the Spa and Wellness category at the prestigious Awards for Hospitality, Experience and Design (AHEAD). The AHEAD team are dedicated to the relentless pursuit of exceptional hotel experiences and run their award system over a two-year period culminating in a global biennale. To be shortlisted so early in the hotel’s journey is confirmation that we are on top of our game. The season was bookended with the Newcomer of the Year award at the 2019 Hideaway Awards.

our motivation comes from our guests' smiles

While receiving praise in the form of awards is always wonderful, these prizes really do belong to our outstanding staff. Season after season, our team work tirelessly to create the holiday dream, and season after season they out-do themselves in providing magical memories to all of our guests. And finally, there is no greater award than the ones our guests provide us with every single day – their trust, their time and their smiles. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every one of you for making 7Pines Kempinski Ibiza what it is today.

May we continue to win hearts (and also awards) in the future.
